When Matthias Hoeing entered the Porsche world,
he was still a young man working for Hamburg engine specialist Thielert.
There he built his extensive experience and an appreciation for working in a fast-paced environment, building Porsche 993 GT2 race engines, manufacturing prototype components for the Bugatti Veyron and manufacturing engine parts for Arrows F1.
Having proved that he was worthy of working with Porsche racing engines and having developed a first-class reputation, it wasn’t too long before Alwin Springer, then President of Porsche Motorsport North America, gave Matthias the chance to rise to the next level. In Matthias’ case, this meant working as an engine builder and dynamometer technician for Porsche Motorsport North America, building and testing Porsche 996 and 997 RSR and Cup engines.

THE FORMATIVE AMERICAN YEARS
At race tracks across the United States he catered to teams like Flying Lizard, Alex Job, The Racers Group and Petersen White Lightning, and worked with technicians and drivers like Patrick Long, Betim Berisha, Joey Seely and Jeff Gamroth.
ANDIAL, the legendary Porsche race shop, which was located just across the parking lot from PMNA, finally infected Matthias with the Porsche virus for good. There he met many like-minded people over the next few years who remained his companions for a long time: Patrick Long, Magnus Walker and the bosses of ANDIAL, Dieter Inzenhofer and Arnold Wagner, and old racing drivers like Howard Meister and their fascinating stories, to name just a few.
Being around awe-inspiring cars like the Porsche 908, 917, 956 and 962 and the equally awe-inspiring founders of ANDIAL, Matthias developed a deep appreciation for the racing machinery of days gone by.
BACK IN THE MOTHERLAND OF PORSCHE
Upon returning to Hamburg, Matthias Hoeing founded his own successful company, which initially specialized in Porsche engine builds but soon offered everything Porsche enthusiasts need, from maintenance, repair and specialty parts sales to secure collector car storage.
Over the next few years he was able to deepen his detailed knowledge of all possible (and impossible) Porsche models. “My aim is not to know everything about every small detail for every single car or variant Porsche ever built. What matters is to be able to quickly obtain all relevant information through my network. It’s a lifelong learning process and one I truly enjoy.”
Being a well-known specialist for such a long time of course helps in building a reliable network of Porsche experts in Germany and Europe. At the same time Matthias worked closely with well-known collectors worldwide and especially in the US. Working with passionate like-minded people is a beautiful thing and a truly rewarding experience.
